Help grow our business as we help customers plan for the future

As a trusted insurance provider to millions, we have to make the right decisions. For both our business and the people we’re here to serve. Our Actuarial teams are vital in ensuring we do.

By helping both commercial and individual customers protect what’s important to them, our multi-line insurance business plays a key part in how we’re Helping Britain Prosper. It’s also one of the largest in the UK, helping around six million customers every day with their insurance, pensions and investment needs. By equipping colleagues and decision-makers with the information they need, and providing models and simulations to help stakeholders understand insurance risks, our Actuarial teams ensure we’re always operating responsibly.

Join us as an Actuarial graduate and you’ll be playing an important role in the success and integrity of our business.

Is our Actuarial Graduate Scheme for you?

Do you have a passion for problem solving? Can you combine it with exceptional mathematical skills and critical thinking? Then training as an Actuary could be the perfect direction for you.

On this programme, you’ll experience the full breadth and scale of our insurance business and get a detailed insight into what being an Actuary has to offer. The work is interesting, varied, and challenging. So, you’ll need to be naturally curious and committed to how we can best meet the needs of our insurance customers. And, of course, be comfortable working with numbers, models, and data.

You’ll be involved in translating complex information to non-specialist colleagues. Which means the ability to communicate well is a must. Along with an eagerness to learn and make a positive difference to both our business and customers.

An important part of this programme will involve completing actuarial exams aimed at providing you the knowledge and skills to be successful in your role and qualify as an actuary. To achieve this, we will provide you with industry leading study support.

What you’ll learn on the Actuarial Graduate Scheme

Over four years, you’ll complete a series of placements across our insurance business. From coding complex models to monitoring and reporting on our business performance, making sure we’re up to date with industry regulations to monitoring the risks climate change poses, everything you do will be helping colleagues understand our business and make smart, informed decisions.

With a comprehensive system of support in place, you’ll have all the help you need to learn and achieve every step of the way. Alongside the teams and projects you’ll be involved in, you’ll also work towards becoming a qualified Actuary with The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Giving you the best possible start to an exciting future.
